Thanks all for the words of congrats on my getting the first part to the Thunderfury sword quest. I got a long way to go, but this is one uber hoss sword.
What is the D'uh? Nothing. Just opinions. If you don't like them. Tough!
ORAAAAAAAAAAANGE SWOOOOOOOOORD!
Quick message. Next person that screws up our Baron Geddon attempt by killing half the raid when you are bombed will get beat with a wet kitten.
WOW. It has been awhile since I posted here. Well I was never able to complete the Maya course. Just way too much going on at the time. Maya Advanced Modelling comes out soon, but I won't be ordering that till next year.
Ugh! How am I going to control myself? Here I am using my free time to work on the class, and here comes Battlefield 2. I have been waiting for this game for so long. I discovered Battlefield 1942 before the hype started. Same for Desert Combat mod for it. So impressive and so fun. It came at a time when I was bored with other multiplayer games. To me, Unreal Tournament just isn't all that fun.
It is amazing what I am learning. Ever since watching the alien building VTM's I have gained a NURBS eye. What I mean by that is I am looking at some images and objects and I can start seeing how to construct them. I just now got some ideas on adding some more detail when I start working on the alien while looking at the Art of Oddworld book.
Well I finished watching all the ship building VTM's. Currently I am thinking of some ways to make some adjustments to the what I want the final model to look like. I want to take this set of lessons as an opportunity to go a little above and beyond the minimum. I have a couple ideas. One is to put a gap in the bulky outter ring parts between the top and bottom piece. Plus I want to model the tobing in a way where instead of being connected to the bulky part of the outer ring, to be a free floating piece that the outer ring glides over as it rotates. Like its a magnetic drive. :) I think that will make it alot nicer after animation as the glowing parts will blink on and off as those parts spin into the bulky parts. Hard to explain, but if I will post a render if I accomplish it.
