Hello Maya peeps.

Well last night since I had really had nothing to do until we were grced with the opening of the Maya class, I decided to do some learning on my own. Knowing that in the next section of the course we would going over Utility Nodes I decided to start palying with them myself to go ahead and get a leg up. I was surprised that I was able to come up with some nifty looking shaders by playing around with some of these nodes. After doing some reading, I took the Sampler Info node, plugged into a Reverse, then into the Glow Intensity of a blinn. Gave me a nice glow along the edges of the ball I applied it to. Even stuck in a Multiply node to increase the intensity. After some internet research on shader I found other ways of doing that effect and they call it a "ghost shader"

All this is new stuff to me, and can't wait to see what the videos in the next section will teach me. Right now I am stuck at work so I am not sure if the class actually started last night or not, so can't wait to get home. If it is up, I am sure I will have a busy night working on assignments for the talented ball animation.
